Aquatis Diving Lanzarote is here to guide you through your try dive in Lanzarote

My name is Sam, and I am the owner and director of Aquatis.

I started diving at the age of 8, and became an instructor at 18.

At just 14, I began working at a dive center here in Lanzarote in exchange for certifications.

I turned 18 on December 31st; a month later, I had my Divemaster certification, and two months after that, I completed my instructor course.

So, tell us… Have we convinced you to come diving with us?

Yes, here are the additional extras detailed for you:

  • Additional equipment rental:
  • 15L tank: €5
  • Dive computer: €5/day
  • Dive light: €7/night dive
  • Underwater camera: €25/day
  • Dive insurance: In Spain, all divers must have personal dive insurance. If you don’t have your own, you can purchase it at our center through Dive Travel:
  • €7/day
  • €16/week
  • €35/month
  • Surcharge for boat dives: This additional fee covers various costs associated with boat dives, including transportation to the harbor, transfers, boat rental, captain’s fee, port charges, and parking fees.
  • Puerto del Carmen | 2 dives: €25
  • Playa Blanca | Museo Atlántico | 2 dives: €40
  • La Graciosa | 2 dives: €85
  • Surcharge for night dives: €15

You must bring your scuba certification from any certifying organization (SSI, PADI, NAUI, ACUC, FEDAS, CMAS, BSAC, etc.).

In Spain, it’s mandatory to have scuba diving insurance. If you don’t have it, you can purchase it from us at the center when you complete the paperwork.

You’ll also need to complete the SSI medical questionnaire and the SSI safe diving waiver and release of liability form that we’ll provide when you arrive at the center.

In Lanzarote, you’ll find dives suitable for all levels, from beginners to technical diving experts wishing to explore depths of over 40 meters. Generally, the currents are gentle and easy to manage.

The underwater landscape is diverse, featuring reefs and drop-offs ranging from 18 to 40 meters deep. Additionally, there are many spacious caves, caverns, tunnels, and jameos (volcanic tubes), some of which are accessible at shallow depths.

Visibility typically ranges between 15 and 25 meters throughout the year. It’s important to note that this can fluctuate due to factors such as tides, currents, and wind.

The maximum depth for diving depends on your age and diving certification. For recreational diving, the maximum depth is 40 meters.

No, you do not need a medical certificate to dive.

We will provide you with an SSI medical questionnaire with questions about your general health. It’s important to answer “no” to all questions.

If you answer “yes” to any question, then you will need to bring a medical certificate allowing you to dive with scuba equipment.

Lanzarote boasts a marine ecosystem teeming with life and diversity.

During your dives, you can observe larger species such as angel sharks, rays, moray eels, stingrays, groupers, amberjacks, and barracudas, all emblematic of the Canary Islands.

You’ll also have the opportunity to enjoy smaller marine life, including colorful nudibranchs, seahorses, damselfish, parrotfish, breams, wrasse, garden eels, hermit crabs, anemones, shrimps, and many other fascinating species.

Typically, we conduct 2 dives in the morning. However, if you’d like to do an additional dive in the afternoon or at night, just let us know, and we’ll do our best to arrange it.

The water temperature in Lanzarote ranges from a minimum of 18°C up to 24°C in the months of September and October. In depths below 25 meters, there may be a decrease of about one degree, and occasionally, thermoclines can be encountered.

After diving, it’s recommended to wait at least 12 hours following a single dive.

If you’ve done repetitive dives over multiple days, it’s advised to wait a minimum of 18 hours, though waiting up to 24 hours before flying is recommended to ensure complete decompression.

If you’ve made it this far, it’s because you either enjoy reading or you’ve already made up your mind.
